Dear Kindred,

The weather here up North has been a tad confused. One day it’s sunny and warm, the next it’s snowing & blowing. There’s a possible freeze warning here so wool coats are necessary & I’m breaking out this beauty. The beautiful thing is winter wear is on sale now. So, let me tell you a little bit about my trip to the city that never sleeps and some key colder weather pieces.

Midwest girls take on New York City! It’s been a little over a month since we visited this wonderful place. The city was fast paced, full of lights and always busy. There’s something so beautiful about visiting a new place you’ve never been and discovering your heart all over again. Appreciating where you came from and leaving a new person.

The walk through Central Park was literally breathtaking. Everywhere I turned there was beauty and wonder. You are between two worlds, a beautiful contrast. Right in the middle of a city, but surrounded by astonishing quiet views in Central Park.

I totally believe this wool coat was specifically made for me. For all seasons. Not only is it heavy and warm, but it doesn’t take away from the sleek silhouette and simple details of a great overcoat by being bulky or busy with details. It simply is “simple.” And that’s the goal here.

The cut down the back makes for easy movement and gives enough coverage to keep my legs warm. This is a neutral classic that you can’t go wrong with. A staple piece that can go with anything. I think a black wool coat can complete an outfit or simply be a great coverup for those quick trips out. This wool coat will be worn well into spring.

I paired it with this to die for scarf I just can’t live without. It’s perfect for this transitional season. Some days are warmer, some are colder. It’s my go to that adds a little bit of color and detail. I love when you put your focus on one of your accessories and it completely makes the outfit. This pixelated floral scarf is nothing like I’ve seen before. I saw it on the rack and immediately knew it had to be mine. What better than to have something you can throw on and immediately change how you look and feel.

Here’s to a lifetime of adventure. Travel fills my soul and I can’t wait for my next place on the map. I’m thankful for photos like this that take us back to beautiful moments. We have a world to see and roam. Let’s go!

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.
