Dear Kindred,

I was working all weekend so wasn’t able to publicly share my Father’s Day post yesterday. Monday comes in as a perfect close second day to share! Once I sent my dad and father in law messages to wish them a Happy Father’s Day & my husband a Happy Paw’thers day 😉 – I set off to tend to my NICU babies to wrap up my weekend of work. As I saw the father’s walking in and out I took a minute to reflect.

For some, this was their first baby that sent them through a whirlwind of emotions. Other’s may not be their first, but brought a new meaning to Father’s Day spending it in the NICU. I watched through the day as father’s snuggled their babes close to their chest it they could, held fingers of ones they couldn’t, stared with eyes of awe, smiled at sweet baby sounds & laughed at funny facial expressions. I don’t think it was the Father’s Day they quite imagined with their new little one if I could guess – but I could see that they were all in love anyway.

My dad.

Thank you for loving me always & being our every day hero. He is the one who taught me to fish, how to jump a car, use a hammer and nails for all my projects, how to grill a delicious steak, was the one to hold my pink bag at dance competitions & put my hair into the best ponytail when mom was gone. The list goes on and on.

But, the things that truly make him special is that my dad has always been the one to tell me how proud he was of me, even if my ideas or dreams were a little out there. He has always taught me true hard work, has protected me and most of all has loved us unconditionally. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone and he is always there if you need him. I am so thankful for him and so proud to call him my dad! Happy Father’s Day! I Love you!

I’ll say it over and over again people are the backbone of why I blog & I couldn’t mean it more when I talk about LA Miller boutique. As soon as I saw her hilarious boomerang videos, the acts of kindness she portrays in her own community and the sweet style she has, I knew we were going to be a match made in blogging heaven!

LA Miller Boutique is what I mean when I imagine blogging heaven.

This off-white batwing cardigan that can be worn also as just a top is something I am loving. I wanted to create something more dynamic so paired it with a lace body con skirt. That’s exactly what I needed to love it a little more. Maybe I’m alone in this, but I’m not super into tight things. I do love a good body con though. It gives shape and although the waistbands make it so you can’t tuck much in, you can pair with a flowy top and it creates a bit of magical dimension.

Batwing sleeves are an easy, breezy look and pair well with any body shape. You want a fabric that collapses softly around your body. What I love about this top is it can be worn as a cardigan as well because of the buttons. I love moveable pieces that can be used differently in a variety of outfits.  It’s brilliant to be able to take a neutral outfit, add some details and create an iconic piece. Also, these sunnies & bralette are from LA Miller too! Stay tuned for more from La Miller!

Tell me more about your dad!
